The Tiny house

A cozy, fully furnished 20 m² studio designed for one person and longer stays. The private space combines a living and sleeping area with a kitchenette.Heated floors keep you warm through Reykjavík’s winter nights. In the brighter spring and summer months, slide open the glass door to enjoy the small patio and backyard.

The neighborhood

Settle into Hlíðar, a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance of central Reykjavík. From the Tiny House, explore the paths of Öskjuhlíð, visit Perlan for panoramic city views, or head toward Nauthólsvík, the geothermal beach.Nearby, Klambratún park offers space to unwind and a dose of Icelandic art at Kjarvalsstaðir. Enjoy a swim and hot-tub soak at Sundhöllin, or browse the shops at Kringlan.Everyday essentials are close at hand, with a convenience store and bus stop just around the corner. About us

We’re a family of four, plus one cat. We work at the University of Iceland and Reykjavík University and offer the Tiny House exclusively to exchange students and visiting scholars and researchers at these two universities.

The studio is available during the academic year for stays of one semester or the full academic year.

Rental periods

  • Fall semester: August 10 – December 20

  • Spring semester: January 5 – June 15

  • Full academic year: August 10 – June 15

Minimum stay: 4 monthsExact move-in and move-out dates are negotiable. Rent is due on the first day of each month. A signed rental agreement and a security deposit equal to one month’s rent are required.
